About 100 people defied sweltering heat to protest against the State Government's plan to allow high-rise apartments to be built along main roads in Burnside, Unley, West Torrens, Prospect and Norwood, Payneham & St Peters council areas.

St Peters Residents Association spokeswoman said the government was "trashing our history and our heritage".
