Residents lash high-rise plans

MULTI-storey apartment buildings would have a detrimental effect on homes, roads and the environment, say eastern suburbs' residents opposing proposed height limit increases.

Many residents pleaded with the council to honour their wishes instead of the government's objectives.

Patricia Huish, of St Peters, reminded the council that residents had elected them to serve ratepayers, not the government.
