'Take this down': govt insists it is listening

An article titled 'Take this down': govt insists it is listening written by Melissa Mack has appeared in InDaily, reporting on the NIMBY or QUIMBY forum.

There remains unrest about urban sprawl developments in Mount Barker, Buckland Park and Seaford Heights and the recent inner metropolitan DPA has raised concerns about high rise in the inner-metropolitan rim.

Rau remained consistent to his message earlier this year that urban sprawl cannot continue. “As far as I’m concerned urban sprawl cannot continue to go on. My perfect outcome would be that it stops altogether.”

The forum ended on a clear note with recommendations to continue to lobby for better community “participation” in planning process, more transparency in government decision-making as well as the push for a moratorium on all development plan amendments.

SPRA has written it's own report on the NIMBY or QUIMBY forum.
