The recent election of Cr Claire Clutterham as the member for Sturt in the Federal Parliament has created a Councillor vacancy for the St Peters Ward, which includes the suburbs of College Park, St Peters & Joslin.
When nominations closed there were eight people seeking the position. The election is to be held by mail and residents will receive the ballot papers near the end of August.
The St Peters Residents Association has organised a meet the candidates forum at 7pm on Tuesday 26th of August at the St Peters Banquet Hall, St Peters Street, St Peters. The South Australian Electoral Commission has more details on the Supplementary Election for Councillor for St Peters Ward.
An invitation is to be extended to the eight candidates who appear on the ballot paper. Candidates with a star have confirmed their attendance. The candidates will speak in the order they appear on the ballot paper.
SPRA invites each candidate to address issues of local concern such as:
WHEN:Tuesday 26th August at 7pm
WHERE: St Peters Banquet Hall, St Peters Street, St Peters
It is planned that each candidate will be allowed 5 minutes to canvas the local issues and to give their vision for the council.
The audience will then be given an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates to help you to decide who should represent you in the St Peters Ward.
