Reflections Mosaic on Eighth Avenue

Reflections Stobie Pole Mural

We’re delighted to share that local artist Travis Cox has installed a new mosaic artwork, 'Reflection' (Instagram), in our neighbourhood. Featuring the graceful image of a black swan familiar to us in the nearby river and billabong, 'Reflection' captures a quiet moment of local natural beauty and is a gentle reminder of the wildlife that enriches our daily walks and the unique character of our riverside environment. It’s a wonderful example of how Stobie pole art can transform infrastructure into something that sparks joy, pride and conversation.

Local residents in Eighth Avenue were involved from concept and design through to approvals and installation. If you’re passing by, take a moment to pause and enjoy 'Reflections'.

We hope it inspires others to consider how our streets can continue to celebrate the natural beauty and shared identity of our community. As always, we’d love to hear about your own Stobie pole art ideas or experiences – please get in touch at info@stpeters.org.au. You can view more of Travis' Creations (Istagram) or by wandering the streets.

Council's guidelines are in addition to the existing SA Power Networks approval process, so residents should seek SAPN approval first, then engage with nearby neighbours, particularly those with a direct line of sight to the pole. The Council's Arts Officer will review applications based on criteria including inoffensive content, social acceptability, and originality. For residents planning multiple artworks on a single street, additional considerations around curation and community engagement will apply.
